Remarks from a Pragmatist Perspective
a lecture by Prof. Sami Pihlström - University of Jyväskylä Finland.

'Death and Mortality': a topic that has kept philosophers as well as theologians busy from the time of Plato onwards. In this lecture, Sami Pihlström, an internationally renowned philosopher from Finland, will approach it from a pragmatist philosophical perspective.

Sami Pihlström (PhD, University of Helsinki, 1996) is since 2006 Professor of Practical Philosophy at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, and since 2009 Director of the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies. He has published widely on pragmatism, the problem of realism, philosophy of religion, and related topics. His recent monographs include Pragmatist Metaphysics: An Essay on the Ethical Grounds of Metaphysics (2009) and Transcendental Guilt: Reflections on Ethical Finitude (2011).
