Sur le Mont (1)
In juni vertrekt Jeannine Suurmond met echtgenoot Yohann en dochter Freya naar Nepal. Ze gaat daar werken als mediator in opdracht van een Duitse organisatie op het terrein van conflictoplossing. Vanuit Bonn, waar Jeannine nu met haar gezin verblijft, schrijft zij blogs (nld. en eng.) over wat zij ondervindt tijdens de voorbereidingen voor haar verblijf in Nepal.
A Frenchman living in Holland. A Dutch woman born in the USA. We promised to dedicate our marriage to reducing suffering and bringing about goodness. Which is a challenge, especially before morning coffee. Thankfully, goodness happens to us too. Our daughter Freya was born. She savours life, especially when it involves fun. Or food. We are moving to Nepal coming June. Jeannine will work as conflict resolution advisor for the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), to help improve and further develop community mediation programmes run by a Nepalese NGO. Yohann will keep on working in the micro- and SMEfinance sector. With Freya, we hope to continue to savour life. And do some good too.
Jeannine Suurmond (MA psychologie) is sinds 2004 werkzaam op het gebied van internationale conflictbemiddeling en vredesopbouw. Samen met haar man Yohann en 2-jarige dochter Freya is ze in juni 2011 naar Kathmandu, Nepal, verhuisd. In de functie van mediation adviseur voor de Duitse overheidsorganisatie voor Internationale Samenwerking (GIZ), begeleidt ze de community mediation programma's van een Nepalese NGO. Jeannine is sinds 2003 betrokken bij Shambhala Nederland. Ze groeide op met twee PKN dominees als ouders en is lid van de PKN.

ervaringen.
